ALICE - pleated ribbon headband
Alice is a fun extroverted headband. It feels carefree and is a great piece to dress up a casual outfit when you are at a festival. As it is multicolour and slightly chaotic, you can pair it with pretty much anything.
I love the bright contrasting colours of lipstick pink and tangerine orange paired with dark grey, lilac and pastel pink.
This hat is handmade in London by me, Claire. I have collected the ribbons over my various visits to London haberdashery suppliers. They grey cotton velvet base was fabric I also used for an art installation that celebrated the Suffragettes.
This headband was inspired by the pleating, bows and ruffles seen in Victorian late 1860s clothing, and the cheerfulness of vintage clown costumes.

HEAD SIZE AND HOW TO WEAR
This headband comes in one size that fits all head sizes.
It is worn ear to ear over the top of your head. The headband is fitted with a dark brown elastic that is designed to go around the back of your head, and sit behind your ears and at the nape of your neck. The elastic is adjustable. If you need it tighter or looser then pull on the slip knot.
The headband has a sturdy piece of felt inside the fabric, which make the piece quite structural.
It does not have a comb, and would not need one for most people. If you like to have combs in your headdresses then just let me know and I can stitch one in.

Your hat will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery, and you should receive your product within 1 - 3 days of placing your order.
You will need to sign for your delivery. You will receive an email from me with your tracking number as soon as I have taken it to the post office.

Your hat will be delivered in a sturdy white box which measures 35 cm x 24 cm x 17 cm (a bit bigger than a standard size shoe box). It is also a great box for storing your hat! And please hang onto your packaging, as all returns need to be sent back in their original packaging.
CARE
Please avoid the rain when wearing this headpiece. It can handle a light sprinkle, but getting completely soaked is not advised.
If it does get wet, then let it dry naturally in a warm room. Don't use a hairdryer or put it next to a radiator as the heat may warp it. Generally this should take about 6 - 12 hours. If you have any problems please do get in touch through the website contact page. If it gets very wet then the felt inside may need reshaping with steam. It's a fairly simple process, so let me know and I can help.
It is best stored in the box it is delivered in, or on a shelf where it has some space around it.
